Croatan Woods on the Sound is located on the north end of Roanoke Island. It is a 43 lot community surrounded by a Federal Preserve and a NC state Preserve. Walk the nature trail to the community's sound front and newly constructed pier. At the sound front there is a gazebo with benches providing great views of the sound and sunsets.. The bile path provides an opportunity to bike to the Elizabethan Gardens, the Lost Colony and historic Manteo. Across the nearby bridge to Manns Harbor is a NC state maintained boat ramp and small fishing pier.
